Request a virtual Walk-in Center appointment
In the wake of COVID-19 and social distancing measures, Identity House is offering online peer counseling in place of our weekly Walk-In-Center. Please note that since all of our resources and referrals are specific to the New York metropolitan area, we are only able to counsel residents of that area.
Please use the form below to make an appointment. You will be contacted by our Walk-in Center coordinator, who will make you an appointment to meet with 1-2 peer counselors for a 45-minute Zoom session.
A “peer counselor” is an Identity House member who has been trained to listen to your experience and share their own, in order to help you identify and express your own needs. All our counselors are engaged in ongoing supervision with New York State-licensed psychotherapists so that they can assist you to the best of their abilities. They are committed to providing a safe and protective environment for you.
Everything you disclose in this session will be confidential. You may choose to discuss your identity, a relationship problem, or any other issue that is important to you. At the end of the meeting, your counselors may suggest additional services for your consideration.
The Walk-In Center is not for crisis support. If you are in crisis please reach out to one of the following resources.
